spirituality and divorce answers and questions

Divorced Christian men are still my hardest group to find for my research. I'm getting help from some very nice support group leaders, but still working at finding enough men to be considered done on this project. Christian Churches includes all denominations. Some of the ones listed on the survey are Church of Christ, AOG, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, Nazarene, Pentacostal, Methodist, Catholic, etc. Interestingly enough, I am finding lots of people responding with either they have struggled spiritually since the divorce and they are working on that. I am also getting a lot of good feedback in the comments sections of this questionnaire. There is no perfect questionnaire that will perfectly assess everyone, but the opportunity to skip irrelevant questions and generate personalized answers adds a lot to the research. My biggest research questions is basically how did the divorce affect ones spirituality. What I am finding is that the spirituality may have been affected prior to the divorce. That means there was something going on that either brought one closer to God and they felt that their living situation was untenable, or they felt far from God and were having trouble with making a decision on divorce. All of these early findings will probably change of course. I just need 15 more Christian men to fill out my online survey. Oct 08 2005, 01:52:58 AM CDT Permalink

Divorce and Spirituality for Members of Christian Churches

So Far I have 80 surveys filled out online. Getting respondents has been somewhat of a challenge as I need to have 45 men and 45 women from various Christian denominations. They also need to have been divorced within the last 6 years. I have a variety of denominations and in order to get enough statistical power for the analyses, I need to have 45 of each gender in each group. So, some of my groups only have one male and 15 or so females. I'm optimistic I can get this done as everyone has given me good feedback that has taken my survey. However, there has to be some way to get more respondents. I will keep working on that. May 18 2005, 10:17:28 PM CDT Permalink
